A Petit List

I thought that I was picking up some naughty tike's litter the other day when I spotted this blowing around on a Breton cycle trail.  Afterwards though I decided that someone out on a shopping trip must have dropped it by accident.  I love that it gave me a tiny insight into the gastronomic  world of another person.  What I found especially fascinating was the precise nature of the goods listed, Valencian oranges, the two types of ham.  I wonder if an English list would go into so much detail.  Let's hope that this was dropped after the trip to the supermarket.

  1. How lovely even a shopping list has more mystery and mystique in French lol

  2. Fascinating. I love the way she/he has put the name of the supermarket at the top. I must start writing " Waitrose "at the top of my lists! ( in case I forget where I am supposed to be shopping? )

  3. I wonder if it was a husband list.If I ever give my husband a shopping list (which is very rarely) I will make it very precise otherwise he would come home with all the wrong stuff

    1. It did occur to me afterwards that the writer of the list might not have been the person doing the shopping and hence the need for such precise descriptions. xx

  4. Love it- quite a keepsake if only the picture. My French is officially terrible but did I pick out that she would be dining on fish this week along with her ham and cheese?

    1. Yep - it was dropped in an area where the fishing industry is huge. xx

  5. I shop at several places, so I put the name of the store and the products I want from there. Especially if I know it's on sale, I'll even jot the price down.

Save On Foods is where I get my Tuscan or Rosemary Ham. And that is always noted on it, otherwise, the husband will buy Black Forest if he's with me.

    Lists save marriages.

    1. Wow! That's organised. Since I'm a bit of a yellow sticker fiend I don't have a list and will buy what's available that's near it's sell by date. Whatever that might be is usually tarted up with 'store cupboard' ingredients. xx

  6. I wonder if they bought their items at Le Clerc and whilst there wrote down the prices of the items so they could see if Casino, Netto or Carrefour was the cheapest. Maybe it was for costing out their recipes and they have a blog and like to show prices to help others. So many thoughts of who they are.

Very neat hand writing. It obviously isnt me.

    1. It's great isn't it. Someone in a previous comment assumed that this was a woman's list. I imagined it was written by a bloke. xx
