Clever Crows

Here's a very cool idea from Crowded Cities.  These Dutch guys are training crows,  extraordinarily intelligent birds to pick up cigarette butts in exchange for food. What a great solution to littering!  Of course, it would be an even better idea if people didn't think it was okay to drop their rubbish in the first place!

  1. What I want to know is - what or where do the crows put it once they've picked it up?

  2. OMG! I have a serious bird phobia and have enough trouble avoiding pigeons and seagulls. Anything with feathers is my worse nightmare.

  3. What a great idea. I got out of my car at the hospital yesterday and someone had dumped about a 100 cigarette butts on the ground, it was disgusting.

    1. You'd need a whole flock of winged litter pickers for that lot! xx

  4. I wonder if seagulls could help with the litter some holidaymakers leave at seaside towns x

    1. The seagulls around here are arch litterers. They tear open bin bags and scatter the contents. xx

  5. I dislike this idea intensely - why should the Corvids clean up after us?!

    1. They shouldn't in an ideal world. People would clear up after themselves. xx
