Rock On!

Good old Colossal alerted me to the fact that, just outside Tokyo, there is a museum, the Chensekikan.  It means the Hall of Curious Rocks and houses the late Shozo Hayama's collection of 1,700 rocks that look like faces.  I'm strangely compelled by it and if ever I get to Japan it might be on my 'must visit' list.

There's even one that looks like Elvis having a bad day!

Finding funny faces in the stones might give me a new activity to try on lazy days on the beach.  With my minimalist mindset I might not be bringing them all home to display.

  1. That could soon get obsessive and build into a space taking collection if you gave into it. They are amusing though. Natures own art forms.

    1. I know and I don't want things that take up space. I did 'rehome' a big box of pebbles on my local beach as part of my tidying process. That would have confused a geologist or two! xx
