Inspired

A lovely mini midweek 'weekend' in Cornwall yesterday.  I'll be heading back to Devon for part two of an interrupted working week soon.  But yesterday Calamity Jane and I did a little tour of Cornwall.  One of our stops was Mawgan Porth beach.  Pristine isn't it?

Except all isn't quite what it seems.  I collected these today, mostly from this beach.   I'm on a mission because I've been inspired.....

...by this!  After I did a post about Mango Mosaics last week my very gorgeous friend Aril from Gnat Bottomed Towers alerted me to using plastic bottle tops as the medium for mosaicing.    While I was foraging for human detritus  Jane collected driftwood for her own crafting plans.   It seems that someone else at the lifeboat station has already tapped into that particular creative vein!

  2. My friend Carol at the Crafty Club has been saving bottle tops for the last six months, we have all been donating to the collection. Her aim is to create a mosaic. I keep asking her if she has started it yet, she says she is at the stage of drawing the outline.

Now I can't get out of the habit of putting my bottle tops in a drawer. Carol doesn't want any more so now I need to think about what to do with them. I see beach combing gives a wider variety of colours, I must try that.

    1. There's lots of ideas on Google images. My own is probably going to be sea themed for my back garden. Fits nicely with the idea of saving plastic going into the sea which predominates at this time. xx
