Musical Plans

I am in Cornwall with Calamity Jane. True to her name the curry in the slow cooker looked weird when I arrived - chicken and vegetables in clear broth!  But we rescued it by straining out the solid bits and mixing it with a jar of tikka sauce, washed it down with prosecco and started to make plans for the rest of the year.

Jane is a big Jam fan.  When we were teenagers she loved Paul Weller and was going to marry him.  My own musical taste was more prog rock focused in those days...and Cliff Richard!  But we won't go there.

Bruce Foxton, an original Jam band member has a group now called  'From the Jam' They're playing in Cornwall later in the year.  Jane's begged me to go.  It would be rude not to.  And here's my suggestion for a musical night out.  I came across these wonderful Canadian bluegrass musicians the other day and am hooked.  I've already booked our Bristol tickets!

  3. I liked them. The guy second from left next to the guy with the big guitar reminds me of George Clark's mate, Will, from amazing spaces.Skinny, hat and beard, strangely attractive, I think. Liked the sound and the way they do the same thing but the background changes which is quite effective. Might have to listen again, this could get me hooked, I think.

  4. Okay, I have watched/listened to them three times in a row now. Strangely hypnotic and I am drawn to the "Will" look alike. Got to go now before I start to sound weird!

    1. No it's the cello player for me. More conventional looking but he has to have a zany side seeing how he's playing that instrument. xx
