Alternative Views From The Pier

I'm in my childhood town of Southend-on-Sea visiting the folks and indulging in some of the time honoured traditions that we keep each time we come here.   A trip down the world famous pier is, of course, de rigueur.  However yesterday our usual mile and a third walk out to sea with  the train back was scuppered.  The walkway is closed due to maintenance.  So we were forced to ride each way.  I took some suitably seaside-y photos.  Here's some of them

    1. Jolly aren't they? I think they've been put there for an impending beer and folk festival. xx

    1. I have to say that it's a bit disappointing when you get to the end apart from the amazing views. No entertainment except a cafe/bar and the RNLI station. Not like in my childhood when there was loads up there. But it's been burnt down a few times. xx
