Straightening Ducks

In my fledgling days of blogging I wrote how I tidied one thing up as I pass through the rooms of my house.  I still do it, picking a bit of fluff off the carpet , popping something back in its rightful place, giving a surface a quick wipe.  I've even got a pair of secateurs ready and waiting in the utility room and I pop outside so I can give my unruly passion fruit plant a quick prune in the time it takes to boil a kettle. The other day as I sat on the loo I found myself straightening my unruly bath ducks.  You may remember Designer Duck that Louis decided was an essential part of the refurbishment of my bathroom a couple of years ago was gained a friend as part of my litter picking hoard from the beach.

I was thinking about my  tidying escapades the other day.  I wondered whether these regular tiny inroads into keeping the house in order save me large chunks of time when I get round to doing a proper big clean.

  1. Yes, Julie, I do that tidying thing too and put it away when I get to the room where it lives. I made charger tidy bags the other day as I am fed up with the cables snaking everywhere when not in use. Everyone thinks it’s hilarious, but it occupied my mind to make them, saved a pair of almost new jeans from landfill, and I used surplus trainer laces as the drawcords. My unruly mind was calm when I had finished.

    1. I've known that for a long time. Some of Louis' bath toys when he was small used to grow alarming mould. I used to squeeze bleach into them. xx
