I'm scheduling ahead as I want to make an early start tomorrow. For barring alien invasion or something more personal and minor like the emergence of a cold overnight, I will finish the Couch to 5K running plan tomorrow for the second time ever.
It's been much easier this time around. In reality I think I might have been able to pump up the speed and distance much quicker but it pays to be cautious. So what now?
This time no half marathons or even 10K runs are planned. I'm going to keep running 5K three times a week for the foreseeable future just to build up a steady habit rather than pushing myself to go further. Maybe I'll venture towards the hillier parts of town to increase my stamina. There's a 5K Parkrun in a few weeks in celebration of the NHS's 50th anniversary. I might do that if I can be arsed to haul myself out of bed early on a Saturday morning. We'll see.
And I might reinstate yoga back into my routine on the days that I'm not trotting around the block. Not a class but perhaps a twenty minute YouTube routine a couple of times a week. Soon, the sea will be warm enough for a swim after work as well. If I'm not careful I'm going to turn into a proper fitness freak. Not a bad thing for an old bird in her fifties.
