Not a Post About Jammy Dodgers

I'm choosing to meditate for longer these days just for the sheer enjoyment.  If I wake early and have enough time for an hour that's wonderful but it's not something that I beat myself up over when I don't.    To ring the changes I sometimes divert from my normal habit of listening to the sound of white noises, waves or a recording of an electric fan.

I've added this link to the track I found yesterday,  Not that I think that many are going to be tempted to hop on over and participate in a fifty one minute breathing meditation.  A singular bod might find it helpful so I've included it.  Just to lure you in the Scottish guy leading it has a very gorgeous voice, a tad distracting but in a pleasant way.  Are you supposed to think of these things when engaging in spiritual practice?

Anyway, for the rest of you I just thought I'd highlight something that happened whilst I was doing this meditation.  On a couple of occasions the 'Hot Scot' urged me to smile and notice the effect that it had.  Even though it was a mechanical gesture I was amazed at the incredible uplift that the action gave to my emotional state.  One to remember in real life.  Have a lovely smiley day you guys!

  1. I like smiles - they definitely have a positive effect on the giver as well as the receiver!

    1. It was that immediate emotional lift that I noticed...without a receiver! xx

  2. I usually smile at people if the make eye contact. It makes me feel better and hopefully cheers them up too.

    1. I do too. It might be the only meaningful contact some people have in a day. xx

  3. I always go around the supermarket with a smile on my face, it is rather gratifying when I see someone change their demeanour after smiling back at me.
